ICYMI: Yak flourish on experimental tune ‘This House Has No Living Room’

Yak are known for their experimental tendencies. Their latest single ‘This House Has No Living Room’ featuring J. Spaceman is no exception. If you missed this track then here’s the lowdown…

The track is set to appear on their upcoming second album ‘Pursuit Of Momentary Happiness’. ‘This House Has No Living Room’ has meanders through a range of moods. There are moments where the soundscapes are sparse and others where it reaches unsettling crescendos. It is a haunting track which makes for an intriguing listen.

Yak frontman Oli Burslem is particularly pleased with the overall result. He has stated “…it’s definitely my favourite. It sums the whole record up. I guess it’s inspired by mortality and memories of loved ones past and present. It also features my good friend John Coxon on piano and harmonica without whom I doubt the band would be where we are today. If it’s the last piece of music I ever make I’ll be happy.”

You can check out the track below now. ‘Pursuit Of Momentary Happiness’ is out on 8th February.  In addition Yak will be live in Newcastle after its release at The Cluny on April 11th.
