Sunniside LIVE returns to Sunderland City Centre for another huge year of live music.
Earlier this year, festival organisers announced two wonderful headliners in Soul II Soul and Lightning Seeds; both days will also feature a full line-up of supporting acts.
Opening the festival on Friday 6th July are 1980’s dance/R&B innovators Soul II Soul. Formed in 1988 and led by the ever-charismatic vocalist/producer/songwriter Jazzie B, the band are best known for hits such as ‘Back To Life’ and ‘Keep On Moving’.
The legendary 80’s act will be joined on Friday by internet sensation, Lovely Laura, the worlds most in-demand saxophonist and Ben Santiago, one of Ibiza’s most prolific DJs. Together the pair provides a rousing set of Ibiza classics sure to have the whole of Sunniside bouncing into the evening.
Also on Friday’s line-up festival goers will find Artful Dodger and DJ Graeme Park.
Liverpool alt-rock band The Lightning Seeds have been revealed as Saturday’s headliner for Sunniside Live. The nineties favourites bring sing-along hits such as ‘Lucky You’, ‘Life Of Riley’ and ‘Pure’ to Sunniside and will be sure to roll out every England fan’s favourite ‘Four Lions’ as well – perfect to continue celebrations after a hopeful home win for the team this World Cup year.
The Lightning Seeds will be joined by Britpop and indie heavyweights Reverend and The Makers, The Bluetones and Cast, along with many more acts to make the day complete.
