Track of the week

The Pale White – Wisdom Tooth

28/09/2018

The Pale White have found their niche and they are thriving with it on ‘Wisdom Tooth’. We say roll on to their massive December show at Northumbria Institute!…

‘Wisdom Tooth’ had its premiere on Radio 1’s Indie show with Jack Saunders earlier this week. The presenter described the track as a “huge statement” and we can’t agree more.

The song has been kept under wraps for a while- until now that is. Luckily it’s been worth the wait though, picking up nicely from where previous single ‘Peace Of Mind’ left off.

A slick guitar heavy soundtrack and the smooth vocal performance from lead singer Adam will leave you gasping for another listen.

The Pale White are regarded as being at the top of the game in these parts. However, they are fast becoming contenders for the next generation of major indie acts in the UK.

Watch this space and don’t forget to see them at Northumbria Institute on 8th December. Come on, it’s their biggest hometown show to date!

NE Dons ft. Eyeconic – Pick N Mix

14/09/2018

NE Dons continue to usher in a new era with ‘Pick N Mix,’ the next track taken from their forthcoming ‘NANG’ EP…

For ‘Pick N Mix,’ the grime duo have teamed up with  Eyeconic, also based in the North East.

The track is high octane from the off. NE Dons spit bars with velocity.

They are deservedly at the forefront of the North East’s grime scene. With their material recently featured by Tom Robinson on BBC 6 Music, there’s no doubt bigger things are to come.

Keep your eyes peeled for the EP too, due for release on 28th September.

FEVA- ‘Uneasy’

24/08/2018

Something wicked this way comes: it’s a new track from FEVA.‘Uneasy’ is 3 minutes of molten hot alternative, dragging the band’s sound into darker dimensions than ever before…

FEVA are one of the bands at the forefront of the music scene in Newcastle. It’s fantastic to see them pushing the envelope with their latest track.

Though FEVA always do a good job at making a radio ready indie tunes ‘Uneasy’ shows that they have new facets to be discovered.

It hits your eardrums like a storm and possesses a glowering, fervent punk-like energy.

Catch FEVA playing Northumbria Institute 2 on September 8th. Tickets are going like hotcakes so don’t delay!

Sam Fender ‘Dead Boys’

15/08/2018

The powerful, raw and profound ‘Dead Boys,’ shows why the momentum surrounding Sam Fender is only continuing to build…

It features Fender’s signature sharp indie sound.  Meanwhile, ‘Dead Boys,’ quietly yet assuredly proves that Sam’s voice as a songwriter is fraught with a rare level of insight for a 22-year-old.

The song handles the silent epidemic of male suicide in a sensitive manner and it’s a moving listen.

Hear Sam perform this brilliant track live in Newcastle on 17th November. This homecoming show is the final date of his first ever UK headline tour.

If you are affected by the content of the song please contact Samaritans, you can call them on 116 123.

Llovers ‘Go Get Her, Go Getter’

10/08/2018

‘Go Get Her, Go Getter’ by Llovers is sparkly indie pop at its finest. The tune sounds euphoric but its lyrics tell a more melancholy story…

One of the band’s co-frontmen Jack Brooks explained “‘Go Get Her, Go Getter’ is about the end of a relationship – more specifically how falling in love with the concept of someone, rather than their true selves, leads to multiple contradictions and a breakdown of communication.”

As ever, the boys bring their refreshing harmonies and jangly synths to the party.

Llovers have not one, but two upcoming appearances in the North East! They support The Old Pink House at The Cluny in Newcastle on 18th August. Alternatively see them in their native Teesside, when they play Westgarth Social Club on 7th September.
