Bombay Bicycle Club – 27/01/20 – o2 Academy, Newcastle 

Bombay Bicycle Club fans, can you believe it’s over 10 years since the release of ‘I had the Blues But I Shook Them Loose’?! We can’t either! 

In 2019 the band decided to play a set of gigs in celebration of this milestone. However 2020 sees the band more future focused. They will release their first new album in five years ‘Everything Else Has Gone Wrong’ which is “about finding hope, safety and comfort during times of despair, when everything is crumbling all around you.” Bombay Bicycle club come to the region on January 27th so you can make your loved ones shake their January blues loose. 


Plain White T’s – 20/03/20 – think tank?, newcastle

Three words: Hey. There. Delilah. 

No one can deny that this track was one of the most iconic songs of the 00s. However, this Illinois five-piece have so much more up their sleeves. The band’s discography includes more gems like ‘Rhythm of Love’. ‘1, 2, 3, 4’ and ‘Hate (I Really Don’t Like You)’ amongst others. 

The band’s music contains elements of pop punk, power pop, emo. In August 2019, Plain White T’s released their eighth studio album ‘Parallel Universe’ through Fearless Records, their original record label. Frontman Tom Higginson said that the aim of the new record remind people who [they] are.” For an evening of old hits and new discoveries gift tickets to their Think Tank? show on  20th March 2020. 


Mystery Jets – 17/04/20 – Riverside, Newcastle 

With tunes like ‘2 Doors Down’ and ‘Young Love (feat. Laura Marling)’, to their name, Mystery Jets have some belters in their back catalogue. 

The band’s discography is peppered with indie disco hits that you’ll still want to boogie along to in the 2020s. Come and see frontman Blaine Harrison and co. perform all the classics and newer cuts from their upcoming latest album ‘A Billion Heartbeats’. If you need the perfect gift for a North East based fan then you’ll be delighted to know Mystery Jets are playing Riverside, Newcastle on 17th April. 


Darwin Deez – 27/04/20 –  Riverside, newcastle

Darwin Deez blessed the world with upbeat jangly indie pop tracks like ‘Radar Detector’, ‘Bad Day’ and ‘Constellation’ in the 00s. Deez’s novelty appearance and unique take on indie in its heyday meant he gained transatlantic cult following. 

Next year marks a whole decade since the release of his eponymous album was released. To celebrate this momentous occasion, Deez and his band will be playing the album in full on a number of tour dates. Amazingly, one of the dates happens to be in little ol’ Newcastle at Riverside!
