News: Drenge are heading to Northumbria Institute Next Spring

This week is already shaping up to be a great one as Drenge have a new LP and tour on the way. The Loveless brothers not only have a third album titled ‘Strange Creatures’ on the way, but also a tour stopping off at Northumbria Institute on March 28th, 2019…

‘Strange Creatures,’ will feature ‘This Dance,’ and ‘Autonomy,’ the titular track from their latest EP, released earlier this month.

The album is slated for release on 22nd February 2019 and is available to pre-order now. It was recorded in Sheffield’s McCall Sound earlier this year and has been produced by Ross Orton. Orton is a long term collaborator with the band whose credits include Arctic Monkeys, M.I.A and The Fall.

The band state that the record was created “after months of chiselling away, ripping themes and ideas apart, and sewing them back together.” They have described it as “the most considered record we have ever made”.

“It’s a nocturnal record. A psychological horror movie on wax. Warped hallucinations from mundane observations as you move through it.”

The aforementioned Drenge tour supporting the record begins next March. Newcastle is the second stop so North East Drenge fans will be amongst the first to hear the new material live. It is the first time the band will play the city since they filled a coveted Hit The North opening party slot.

Tickets are on sale from 9:00 am on Friday 2nd November. Make sure you’re up bright and early for this one!
