Dunes formed back in 2016. The lineup is made up of John Davies on guitar/ vocals, Ade Huggins on bass/ vocals and Nikky Watson on Drums
2018 has proved to be a big year for them thanks to the release of their ‘EP 2,’ which came out in March. The EP features five tracks including ‘Seapig,’ a favourite on Dunes’ Spotify page.
The main point of comparison for the band is probably Queens of The Stone Age. This is due to their shared love of a seductive riff, soulful vocals and punchy drums.
Not ones to rest on their laurels, the Dunes lads have also recently announced they will be releasing an LP titled ‘Take Me To The Nasties,’ in March 2019.
Just like on their ‘EP 2,’ Dunes are currently recording the album with Graham Thompson. He has previously worked with notable acts including Frankie and the Heartstrings.
When Dunes emerge at Think Tank? Underground during November, they will be joined by two other acts: Ten Eighty Trees and Too Close For Missiles.
Ten Eighty Trees are alt rockers based in Newcastle/ Sheffield. Their latest single ‘Stop Asking,’ is a euphoric tune that will certainly get the crowd going.
Too Close For Missiles meanwhile are 100% Newcastle based. These guys dabble in the art of pop-punk and have just recorded their debut single so keep your ears peeled for that one.
