News: Hembree begin recording Debut LP

US indie pop band Hembree have began recording their debut LP. The news comes a few months after the band were lauded one of the best acts at this year’s SXSW by Rolling Stone…

If you haven’t heard of Hembree then let’s get you up to date. The band, who make music that sounds tailor made for fans of Phoenix and Alt-J, released their debut EP titled ‘Had It All’ last year.

One of the tracks, ‘Holy Water’, was featured on an Apple advert for the HomePod speaker. The song garnered plenty of traction thanks to this on both the US Billboard and on streaming platforms. People have pressed play on ‘Holy Water,’ over one million times on Spotify alone!

On July 17th 2018, the band announced that they are finally going to be releasing a debut album which is set to come out in 2019.

They have been keeping their fans very much in the loop about how their album is progressing. It is currently in the pre production stage. Hembree have decided to do most of the work on their album in the town where they all met- Lawrence, KS.

Despite being homebirds in that particular sense, Hembree are also keen to hit the road. They hop across the pond this autumn to embark on a European tour.

Luckily the tour stops off in the North East with the band playing Think Tank? on 2nd November. Tickets are now on sale. Get your hands on them while you still can.
