The Manchester indie pop group have hits to their name including ‘There’s A Honey’, ‘Television Romance’ and ‘New Year’s Eve’.
Pale Waves first rose to prominence in 2017 after signing to Dirty Hit. Following this, they supported labelmates The 1975 at shows including a sold out event at Madison Square Garden, New York.
By the time 2018 came around, Pale Waves were getting hotly tipped by multiple sources. This included them being featured on the BBC’s Sound Of 2018 poll which set the stage for the release of their EP ‘All The Things I Never Said’ and later their debut album ‘My Mind Makes Noises’. The album reached number 8 in the UK Album Chart and number 1 in the UK Indie Chart.
In 2019 Pale Waves channeled most of their energy into live performances. They played multiple festivals, including a North East appearance at Radio 1’s Big Weekend, Middlesbrough. In September, Pale Waves confirmed that they are working on their next album and they released a new single ‘Tomorrow’.
The group’s confirmed performance for the Hit The North 2020 Opening Party is their first confirmed show of the year after supporting Halsey on her upcoming Manic Tour. Ticket for the Newcastle show go on sale at 10 am on Friday 22nd November.
In other Hit The North news, the festival shared its first lineup announcement on Monday 18th November. DMA’S will headline and other acts on the lineup include Fickle Friends, The Magic Gang, Working Men’s Club and Walt Disco. Tickets are available from Wednesday 20th November.
