News: Jaws To Be Supported by Ivory Wave and Bare Roots at Riverside

Jaws will be supported by Ivory Wave and Bare Roots at their upcoming Newcastle show. It’s at Riverside on 23rd November…

Jaws are one of the prominent bands to emerge from the B-Town scene of the mid 2010s that brought bands like Swim Deep and Peace to the fore. In April the band released their latest album ‘The Ceiling’.

Three albums deep into their career, Jaws have harnessed a more textured sound than before. The fuller sound brings a heightened sensual experience to their music while the notes of dream pop and alt-rock from previous efforts are fully present.

Main supports Ivory Wave are a Birmingham band who will breathe even more life into the evening. Like Jaws, Ivory Wave come from Birmingham and the band. Their tunes take on more of an acid house vibe than the headliners but their unique sound makes them a fitting warm up for another band who have always forged their own path. Latest single ‘Uptown’ appeals to the dreamier side of Jaws’s music.

On the more alternative end of the spectrum are second supports Bare Roots. The band only emerged in 2019 but they have been steadily securing a local fanbase. As well as festival appearances, Bare Roots had a sold out Think Tank? Underground earlier this year and have released four singles. Their two latest singles ‘Always’ and ‘Dirty Feet’ cleverly combine influences such as The War on Drugs and Pearl Jam.

Limited tickets for the show are available. Make sure you’re there and get down early for the supports too!
