News: Jordan Allen evoke 00s indie nostalgia on ‘Naked’

Indie lovers ought to prick their ears up for this one! Jordan Allen have a new single ‘Naked,’ and it’s the perfect place to start with this quartet on the rise…

The Bolton band are by default grouped in with the latest generation of  talented bands emerging from Greater Manchester. This list of course includes Cabbage, Spring King and Blossoms.

Jordan Allen are definitely an outfit for those who like their straight laced, no nonsense indie. ‘Naked,’ is the ultimate example of this.

Mentions of “takeaway boxes” and pursuing a girl who looks like a “stone cold punk rock princess” make the tune sound like it could be placed at the epitome of a lad’s night out soundtrack.

The romantic chorus starting with “You are my Paris, you are my Rome/ The only place I’m not alone” is chanted with the vigour of passionate football fans. Additionally, it is guaranteed to be stuck in your head for some time.

‘Naked,’ is the kind of track that makes you feel nostalgic for 00s bands like the Fratellis, Hard-Fi and Pigeon Detectives. However, with tracks like this still being released in 2018 it is clear that the beacon is being carried.

The lads are on tour this autumn if you like their sound. Jordan Allen will return to the UK with a fine tuned set after playing across the pond for Indie Week, Canada.

Adding to this fantastic news is the fact the tour has not one, but two stops in the North East!

The people of Sunderland can see them at Independent on 1st December. The Strands and Crillys will also be there filling support slots.

Meanwhile the band hit Newcastle for a gig in Think Tank? on 4th December. Jordan Allen will be supported on this later date by Fever Days (who currently occupy our Track of the Week spot) along with Robbie Pick.

Choose whichever show you like but grab your tickets quickly before they’re all gone!
