News: NE Volume Magazine To Celebrate 3rd Birthday With Special Live Music Event

The north east based music/ culture magazine NE Volume is turning three years old! On June 29th, the magazine are hosting a party to mark the occasion at Stockton venue Musiclounge. It will feature performances from The Skapones, The White Negroes and Alistair James- a trio of Teesside acts…

The Skapones are headlining the event. This Darlington outfit have managed to infiltrate the ska scene and lift the moods of any crowd they encounter. Their set will comprise of a mixture of covers and original two tone and ska material.

The Skapones have managed to take the no. 1 spot on the UK reggae charts with their debut single ‘Cradle to the Grave.’ A debut album with the same title is also on its way. Their latest single ‘The Ghost In Me,’ was released earlier this month and will sound fantastic in a live for NE Volume’s 3rd birthday party.

The White Negroes will also be playing on the night. According to the band, they make music that sounds ‘like stadium rock in a working men’s club.’ Their performance is set to include tunes with elements of ska, Brit-pop and reggae thrown in for good measure.

Completing the bill is Alistair James. The Middlesbrough singer songwriter has kept a low profile for a little while to work on new music. However he is making a return at the NE Volume party and will no doubt bring plenty of upbeat rock’n’ roll to his set.

Be sure to help celebrate music and culture in the North East with NE Volume this June for their 3rd birthday party. Tickets for the event are on sale now so snap them up quickly!
