08/01/2019

Sea Girls have made the BBC Sound of 2019 Poll. The news comes ahead of the band playing a gig in Newcastle on 28th February at Northumbria Institute 2…

Sea Girls have spent 2018 getting their reputation with numerous releases including their latest single ‘All I Want To Hear You Say’. It has certainly been paying off with Sea Girls being tipped for big things in 2019 by the likes of Radio X, The Independent, NME and Metro as well as BBC.

The BBC Sound of… poll has helped countless acts to break through in previous years such as Sam Fender, Royal Blood, Adele, The Amazons, Wolf Alice, Tom Grennan and Stormzy.

This year Sea Girls are truly flying the flag for British indie on this year’s long list as they are the only band who have been featured, with the rest of the acts on it being solo artists. The list also includes King Princess, Slowthai and Mahalia who previously performed in Newcastle last year.

On Friday 11th of January the winner of the poll will be announced so keep your eyes peeled!

The Full BBC Sound of 2019 poll is listed below in no particular order:
