Swedish funk rock legends Electric Boys return to Newcastle on March 19th, playing Think Tank? The band’s latest album dropped late last year, and now they’re embarking on a headline tour to play their legendary tunes live…

Electric Boys formed in Sweden back in 1988, as forerunners of the funk rock movement of the times.

The band quickly achieved cult status all across Europe and the UK, dropping their debut album ‘Funk-O-Metal Carpet Ride’ in 1989.

The record garnered rave reviews and saw the band gain thousands of fans worldwide.

The band are not strangers to the Toon, they played a legendary gig at Newcastle’s Riverside back in 1989. Where the Red Hot Chilli Peppers front-man Anthony Kiedis joined them on stage!

The band released a further two albums before going on hiatus in the mid 90s before reforming in 2009. They now have six studio albums to date.

The most recent of which ‘The Ghost Ward Diaries’ dropped late last year, along with single ‘You Spark my Heart’ in late November.

Electric Boys are Conny Bloom, Andy Christell, Franco Santuinione, Niklas Sigevall and Jolle Atlagic.

The band come to Newcastle’s Think Tank? on 19th March as part of their headline tour.
