Preview: Hands Off Gretel – 11/07/19 – Think Tank?, Newcastle

Hands Off Gretel are an alternative rock/grunge band, formed 2015 in South Yorkshire. They are embarking on ‘I Want The World’ album tour and hitting Newcastle’s Think Tank? on 11th July…

Hands Off Gretel were formed from the foundations of an early musical partnership between Lauren Tate and Sean McAvinue. Lauren felt the world needed more angsty honest females in the world filled with a commercialised pop, singing about breakups and being famous, she gave the world Hands Off Gretel.

The current line-up is Lauren Tate (guitar, vocals), Sean Bon (guitar), Sam Hobbins (drums) and Becky Baldwin (bass).

Hands Off Gretel have already performed over 100 shows, including major festivals, such as Download, Isle of Wight, Rebellion and Camden Rocks Festival. They have done 2 European tours, as well as selling out shows in Germany.

Their newest album ‘I Want The World’ was released this year. It features twelve-tracks highly addictive, and sometimes vindictive, melodic rock that is unafraid to blend the heavy screeching distortion of grunge rock with the catchy hooks of bubblegum pop, whilst keeping true to their original roots in punk rock.

With attitude and confidence aplenty they are also a visually compelling band to see live, injecting energy and chaos into every performance. So make sure you get yourself down to Think Tank? on 11th July!
