Citing The Strokes and Mac DeMarco as their main influences, Hinds manage to create a niche all of their own. Touring widely over the last 7 years, they have made a name for themselves across Europe, driving thousands to their shows!
An all-girl band, Hinds easily rock it harder than their male counterparts. Their music releases and likeability has earned them an adoring legion of inspired female fans that are picking up the instruments themselves! They initially formed as a duo called Deers, with Carlotta Cosials and Ana García Perrote back in 2011. After releasing single ‘Demo’ on streaming site Bandcamp, they gained a further two members; Ade Martín (bass) and Dutch-born Amber Grimbergen (drums). In late 2014 they changed their name to Hinds, later releasing energetic debut album ‘Leave Me Alone’ in 2016.
Sophomore album ‘I Don’t Run’ was released back in April to overwhelmingly positive reviews and a more DIY garage rock sound. Produced by legendary Gordon Raphael, whom worked on Strokes debut ‘Is This It’, it certainly surpasses expectations, especially when played live!
They’re known for embodying a classic style populated by the likes of The Velvet Underground; melancholy lyrics contrasted against upbeat summery melodies. The end result being the tracks buzzing around your head all day, and live shows will winning you over as a committed fan.
They’re currently out on the road with their biggest UK tour yet, playing Newcastle on the 4th December at Riverside. It is sure to be an electric show, get your tickets now before the event sells out
