Kickstarting his music career in 2016, James Leonard Hewitson plays his indie-rock tunes with a punk flair (existential social commentary lyrics included). The Hartlepool local writes some clever observational lyrics with an addictive upbeat quality to them.
Single ‘Dead In The Ground’ is very obviously punk-inspired with its cheeky personality and lively guitars a recognisable feature of James’ music. James has played shows at some of the North East’s leading events in new music, including Stockton Calling, Twisterella Festival, and Evolution Emerging. Alongside headline shows in London, James is a keen live performer.
Having received considerable support from the music scene in the north-east, James is ready to properly show off his talents. His debut album ‘Only The Noise Will Save Me’ is due for release later on in the year, in Autumn 2019. To get the ball rolling, he’s releasing his first single for the debut album, ‘Deader’, on the 26th June. 2019 is looking to be an exciting year for James Leonard Hewitson. Watch this space.
Catch him on the 28th June at Think Tank? Underground.
