Kate Nash’s rise to stardom came in the form of massive sleeper hit ‘Foundations’, released as the lead single to her debut album ‘Made of Bricks’ in June 2007. The depressingly sarcastic lyrics alongside the upbeat melody hit a chord with so many, lending it a Number 2 spot in the UK charts for 5 weeks. The single was a massive commercial success, ending up as 2007’s 17th biggest-selling single in the UK.
Nash’s follow up debut album ‘Made of Bricks’ peaked at Number 1 in the UK and handed her the Best British Female Brit Award in 2008. She released her second studio album ‘My Best Friend Is You’ in 2010, which reached the Top 10. The album’s lead single ‘Do-Wah-Doo’ peaked at Number 15, retaining Nash’s signature rocky vibes with her floaty vocals.
Kate Nash self-released her third album ‘Girl Talk’ in 2013 and again with her fourth venture ‘Yesterday Was Forever’ in 2018. She’s since explored acting and starred in a number of successful creations, including the Netflix comedy GLOW from 2017.
Her beautifully frank singer-songwriter style is still just as iconic as her ginger hair. Her appearance at Riverside should be a good one full of noughties nostalgia as well as recent tunes, so grab your tickets here!
