Strange Bones are Stewart Newburn on drums, Jack Bentham on guitar, Will Bentham on bass and Bobby Bentham on vocals. They grew up in a household where punk rock and mentalities were the norm. Therefore, it seemed inevitable that this is the direction the band’s sound would take.
With this education and a belief in their talent, in their early teens they formed a punk-band and played nearly 1000 shows together around the world: Japan, US, Australia, Italy, Spain, Germany – played them all.
Their sound is accented with distorted guitars and snarling vocals that are usually uttering lyrics that stick a big fat middle finger up to society and commodity culture.
The sense of community combined with blistering energy is something Strange Bones endeavour to recreate at their notoriously ferocious live shows. Highlights include support to Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes, Yonaka and Cabbage, alongside Reading and Leeds, Isle Of Wight. Strange Bones were also shortlisted for Best Live Act at the 2018 Unsigned Music Awards.
If you want to see Strange Bones creating and releasing something outside of the box during their live show, make sure you don’t miss out on your chance to see them Newcastle’s Think Tank? on 6th June.
