Thirty Seconds To Mars have been known as an alternative/ stadium rock staple since the early 00s. They have amassed a global cult following. The band is also of course also known for its lineup.
It is fronted by the famous actor Jared Leto who also plays guitar, bass and keyboards. TSTM additionally comprises of Leto’s older Brother Shannon on drums/ percussion.
The band are known for veering into experimental territory and producing concept albums too. For example, their album ‘This Is War,’ was written when the band were embroiled in a challenging legal dispute with their record label at the time.
Their latest effort, ‘America,’ sees Thirty Seconds To Mars enter new territory for multiple reasons. It not only tackles subjects based on what life is currently like in America thanks to its current political and social climates, but also incorporates new musical genres into the band’s repertoire.
TSTM may be best known for their alternative rock sound but their first record in five years features electronic and art pop songs. There are also collaborations with Halsey on the track ‘Love is Madness,’ and A$AP Rocky on ‘One Track Mind.’ Famous DJ Zedd also lent a hand with production.
The Newcastle show for This Is Tomorrow is part of Thirty Seconds to Mars’ ‘The Monolith Tour,’ named after one of the album tracks.
